Nestled in the hills of Santa Ysabel, California, the Ilan-Lael Center was created as a place where art, education, and the natural world intersect. Designed by James and Drew Hubbell, the project embraces resilient, low-impact construction and responds directly to the site's climate, topography, and patterns of sun and wind.

A collection of interconnected courtyards, studios, meeting spaces, and gardens unfolds through handcrafted architecture rich with mosaics, stained glass, sculpture, and reclaimed materials. The result is an environment where creativity, craftsmanship, and landscape are inseparable.

Completed while employed at Hubbell & Hubbell Architects.
